Bicycles seem to have an affinity with sandstone universities. Perhaps it's the contrast of round wheels resting against the straight edge of a stone column that makes such a pleasing sight, or perhaps it's that staff and students feel that life slows down a little as they get around on two wheels. A bicycle is always fashionable, identifying both the environmentally conscious academic and the financially constrained student. Certainly, there is no better way to see the campus than pedalling around it.
