Dolphin Theatre
Dolphin Theatre
Dolphin Theatre, 1976
The Dolphin, an elegant, intimate 200-seater, was designed by theatre aficionado Peter Parkinson to complement the neighbouring Octagon and provide for student use. Now undergraduate and graduate dramatic societies, PantoSoc, and French, Italian and German clubs all feel at home there. The foyer features a Juniper sculpture, a bar and production memorabilia. The original Dolphin theatre was an ingeniously converted Engineering hut, which hosted the best and worst of student theatre from 1960 until its demolition in 1980.
